Paid Time Off (PTO) Program
Protective’s Paid Time Off (PTO) Program provides a combined “bank” of paid time away from work that your can use for time off. Traditional vacation, sick and floating holidays are combined into one time away from work “bank”. As a new employee, you will accumulate a set number of “paid time off” days each year to use when you are away from your job (i.e. vacation, sick, appointments, personal time, etc.). You will accumulate PTO on the first day of each month, and the amount of PTO you accumulate is based upon your length of service, work group, and the number of hours you are regularly scheduled to work per week. Under the PTO program, you have more flexibility in managing how, when and for what purpose you use your paid time off from work.

Holidays
Protective observes nine holidays per year, but actual days observed may differ in some departments due to the nature of their business.

Short-Term Disability Leave
After completing 90 days of service, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave. In the event of extended illness (typically after five days), full or partial salary (based on length of employment) may be paid for up to six months.

Employee Assistance Program
A wide range of issues not directly associated with work can have an effect on your job performance. In an effort to help meet the changing needs of our employees, Protective has established an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The program provides access to professional counselors and is open to all employees and their family members free of charge.
